4.18.10

Dad: I sang in church today and when I was done I got to go down and sit next to my dad. Normally he doesn't go to my ward, but my parents came to hear me sing. It reminded me of all the times growing up that my dad was there. He never missed anything that was important to me. He still doesn't. I got to go sit down and put my head on his shoulder. Just like I did as a little girl. I hope I can always be my daddy's little girl.

Primary songs: I love singing primary songs. I think it's because when you hear the simple truths that are in the songs it fills your heart up. I sang, "I feel my Savior's Love" today and it is so true that we can feel our Savior's love in all the world around us.

Sunshine: with the weather being so hit and miss lately... snow... rain... sun... I sure do love the sunshine.
4.17.10

Schedules: We have had such a tight schedule today. I was so pleased that we were able to pull off all the things we needed to get done! It's such a relief at the end of the day to feel that sense of accomplishment.

Friends: I say it a lot, but it's because it's so true... I have the best friends ever! I feel so lucky to have the people in my life that I have. I think I will keep them. (They feed me.)

Little boys: we joke about the fact that most of our friends only have boys. (Seriously... I only have a few friends that have girls... like maybe two...) The rest of us have boys. It's a good think we like boys around here! Congrats to my friends who have boys and are expecting boys... Pink isn't a color we know very well.
4.16.10

Computers: I love knowing that I can find any info as fast as I need to with the internet. Although I think this also contributes to our "I want it now" mentality as a whole, I'm still not willing to give it up at all!

Day dresses: I just got a little baby doll dress that I wear around the house. Not the all time cutest outfit, but it's so comfortable I don't care!

Taking off: My kid took off today walking. He finally just decided he could and walked all the way across the room. So cute!

4.15.10

Making lunch dates: I'm going to go to lunch with an old high school friend I haven't seen for ever! I'm way excited!!!

Motivation: I'm finding all sorts of motivation for my kid to walk. He's sooo close. The best motivation is food... sad... he must get that from me.

Pride: I know this isn't something people should have a lot of, but my dad has been writing a book on one of my ancestors lives. It is amazing to me, and I'm so proud of my dad for doing it. I know he is doing it for the good of his posterity so we know where we come from. Way to go dad!

4.14.10

Showers: I cleaned out a clogged shower this morning, not that it was a fun thing to do, but I'm so grateful to have my long showers back.

Sunshine: the weather has been so great today that I just want to sit outside and soak up the sun for a few hours. I'm so glad the next few days are supposed to be nice out.

Psych: my husband and I were watching an episode tonight and I just kept giggling. A sign of a good show.

4.13.10

I'm not pregnant: every time my "female" experience starts I just have to be thankful that I'm not pregnant. Honestly, that's the only thing good about it that I can think of... oh... and the overwhelming cravings for chocolate.

Tippy toes: my kid has been chicken to actually start walking. He wants to, but then he crashes so he decides that crawling is better. Tonight he made several attempts to actually walk. His toes keep getting in the way, but I'm sure that this is the beginning of the end. (He's taken his first steps, but he just is a crashing machine.)

Best friends: so I ran out of chocolate on Sunday. (Not good at all for this woman!) However I couldn't leave the house today with two babies... so my bestest friend went to Costco and picked up my favorite chocolate snacks for me. Now that's true friendship. (Especially since I'm not pregnant!)

4.12.10

Nephews: today the door got knocked on and my nephew showed up with his friend. Then the other nephew came over too... I think I must be doing something right since it seems that teenage boys feel comfortable around me. I even bribed one into cleaning my kitchen! I am so grateful for them in my life! They're such good kids.

Messes: they always seem to get cleaned up... but tonight it was hilarious to watch the kid make a huge mess. I even took pictures. Eating new things is always an adventure for him.

A good man: knowing that I didn't get to have a shower until 8 tonight, my husband decided he would do the dishes!
4.11.10

10 months: yup! 10 months ago today! Wild!!! Simply wild! I have to say the kid just gets cuter and cuter.

Testimonies: it was so nice to hear the testimonies of our congregation, and then later to hear the testimonies of my family. We are all in different places, but we all love the same Lord.

Being the fly on the wall: I got to watch as families loved my kid today. He went from person to person being loved and adored. He was so good, and didn't cry once. I was proud, because I knew he was tired, but he hung in there like a little trooper.
4.10.10

Weeding: it isn't as bad as I remember.

Dreaming of the backyard: I know what I want, it is just going to take 10 more Saturdays like this one. :)

Going for a long walk: it was so nice tonight to get out the bob and take the kid out for a long walk with my husband. The weather was nice and breezy, the company was great... now if I had only worn the correct shoes I wouldn't have the blood blister... oh well!
4.9.10

Climbing: we were able to take my sister's kids climbing today. It ended up being a lot of fun. All three kids got to the top of the 40 ft wall. (Even though the 8 year old was mighty scared!) I have to say I'm very proud of them and how well they did. There wasn't a single fight, disagreement, or even teasing through the day. On top of it all, it was like having three sets of extra hands to play with the kid!

Date Night: after taking her kids out, my sister graciously took my kid so that my husband and I could go out. We saw a movie and cuddled. The sad thing is that after the movie we looked at each other and were so exhausted that we decided to just go home!

Chick-fil-a: I sure do love their nuggets with bbq sauce! YUMMM!
4.8.10

Making bracelets: I had the girls over for activity days. It was fun to make the bracelets I made with my sister growing up. It's also fun to see how excited they get when they learn a new skill.

The wrong side of the bed: it was actually fun to get my kid in a good mood after he woke up cranky. All it took was tickle time and tummy zurbuts!

Bones: I love that show.
4.7.10

Stairs: ever since the kid has started to climb stairs, I've been paranoid that he is going to go tumbling down them. My niece has started a new game now that she slides down the stairs with him on her lap. He can't stop laughing and it makes me smile.

Milk: the best complement to chocolate.

Weather: it's been so erratic lately. I'm hoping that spring/summer will come and stay with us for a bit. On the other hand if we need the rain and snow for the spring/summer to be pretty I guess I can take it for a little while longer.

4.07.2010

4.6.10

New babies: my good friend Manda had a little boy today. I'm so happy for her!

Craft projects: I've been working on a craft project lately... I've now re-done it 3 times and am looking at a 4th. I guess creative genius can be thwarted!

Wedding receptions: I went to see my friend Big tonight at his reception. It was very well done and his new bride is so beautiful!!! I'm glad that he is a happily married man now. He was getting old. :)
4.5.10

Turning off: I turned off the TV today and was surprised. I don't think of myself as a couch potato, I get a lot done... but I was amazed at how much more I got done without the background noise.

Scheduled naps: we've been so out of sync that it was amazing today to have 2 glorious naps and a normal bedtime.

Paint chips: my wall is decorated with paint chips in different colors. It's so fun to envision the change it will make to my home.

4.05.2010

4.4.10

Easter: the bunny didn't come this year because there wasn't a desperate need and we told him he could wait another year before Bug would really care. However, I think as we remember our Savior's sacrifice for us, it is a wonderful thing to celebrate and re-dedicate ourselves to being better people.

Edible grass: someone came up with making it out of potatoes... weird, but somehow good.

Turtles: the kind you eat with caramel and chocolate. YUM!
4.3.10

General Conference: I love listening to the voice of modern day prophets as they encourage and inspire us to lead better lives.

David A Bednar: cause he's just a really cool guy.

Dancing: I got video of my kid dancing tonight. So very cute!

4.03.2010

4.2.10

Karma: as I've lived through this week, (notably one of the worst I've had in a long time) I have to believe in karma. Not because I want others to reap what they sow, but because I'm hoping I get brownie points for being nice about it all.

Excedrin: my drug of choice for crying educed headaches.

Fablehaven: I just love that series... sure wish my son would leave me alone long enough to read the last book. :)
4.1.10

April Fools Jokes: my best friend loves to joke... I think she's weird. April Fools is such a weird holiday to me! This year she tried the classic "I'm pregnant." Sadly other people fell for it, but not me! I'm SMRT!

Brothers: I know I write a lot about sisters. Mainly because that is what I live around. However, I have some amazing brothers that try to do the right things in life. I appreciate that.

Waiting: I waited a long time to find the right man for me. It was so worth it.

4.01.2010

3.31.10

Aftershocks: isn't it weird that when good things happen, there are aftershocks of more good things? Conversely, when bad things happen there are aftershocks as well... I wonder if that is the definition of karma...

In-laws: I happen to have the best in-laws on earth. I'm so grateful for the sweet sisters that I've been given through marriage. I needed a hug today and got one.

Chocolate Oreo Shakes: Even if someone takes a bite out of the oreo cookie sitting on top, having someone ring your doorbell and hand you a shake is true friendship.
3.30.10

More: tonight we went out to dinner and we broke up a roll to give to Bug. When he was all out of food he turned to my husband and said more! Since he hasn't said it again, we're not sure if it was a fluke or not, but it sure was cute!

Johnny on the spot: so, somethings happened today that aren't so much fun, however, I'm so blessed to have a husband that when I call and say that I need him, he is home 15 minutes later. (That's the time for him to get home.) He is the greatest blessing in my life and he constantly shows me his love by always being there when I need him.

Compassion: I hope that at the end of the day people will say that I'm a compassionate person. It is something that I strive for. I hope that I can be the kind of person that other people want to be around. I also hope that with the things that transpired today that I showed compassion to those who needed it.
